Dyslexic Cardigan
April 23rd, 2008 by BJB
Is there such a thing as late onset dyslexia? If so, I’ve developed it. I’m trying to knit the Printed Silk Cardigan, featured in the Spring issue of Interweave Knits, for my daughter, and I’m having a hell of a time getting the pattern right!
There I am, knitting merrily along, believing everything is going well and I’ve ‘nailed it’ this time. But upon closer inspection I invariably find a mistake, many rows back, and have to frog it-AGAIN!
I swear my eye/brain circuitry is reversing the left/right symbols used on the chart. A search through Ravelry told me that no one else seems to be having this problem with the pattern.
My daughter may not be wearing this sweater anytime soon but when she does finally receive it, it will be knit properly, if it kills me. I’m too stubborn to leave the mistakes (however minor) in there and have to look at them every time she wears it.
If anyone has any tips for following this pattern successfully I’d really appreciate your leaving me a note on this site.
