It’s a Good Thing She’s So Cute…

March 8th, 2008 by BJB

My dog, Winnie, turned 2 yesterday. To remind me that, in Wheaten years, she’s still a puppy, she created this carnage with my most recent knitting project. While I was in the kitchen cooking supper she pulled the balls of yarn, 3 of them, off the coffee table, where I thought I’d stashed them safely, attached to the needles and 6 inches or so of knitting. By the time I noticed what she was up to she had dismantled 2 skeins of yarn and was working on the third. After much detangling I was able to save about 2/3 of the dark pink yarn and about 1/2 of the light pink yarn.

This project is my attempt at using up some of my stashed and leftover yarns by knitting the White Lies Shapely Tank Top. The free pattern is available here: http://www.whiteliesdesigns.com/patterns/lpullovers/fbc.html
I knit this tank top in a solid colour last year and I absolutely love the fit and style. I’d like to knit a drawer full of these!

For this tank top I’m using 3 shades of pink in varying intensities.

The breeder we bought Winnie from recently informed me that 2 years is old enough for breeding. “She’s old enough to be a mom” she said. Looking at the picture above of her ‘yarn party’…I don’t think so! She’s still a mischievous little puppy at heart.

Oh my gawd! I think Winnie might be a tad jealous of all the time you’re spending with your needles and yarn :S
