You're most welcome. I love hearing about alterations made to my pattern to suit the knitter. Great idea to put the ruffle on.

I am so happy I found your pattern. I've made 2 of these for gifts, with Plymouth baby alpaca. I wanted a bit less knitting time so used # 10 needles & cast on 60 stitches total (9 repeats x 6, plus border). I put a ruffle on one by doing the border in 5 rows with 3x # stiches on edge. Fun and easy to knit - I only knit stuff I can do while at meetings, watching CSPAN, etc, and I look far & wide for patterns that will yield nice results without having to read charts or count (I of course use yarn loops as markers to divide all my repeats). Thank you so very much.

How lovely! I've been searching the net for hours trying to find something that I can make for my Aunt who is selflessly sitting by my Uncles side in a nursing home. I was hoping to surprise her with this. She's 80+ and hospitals and nursing homes are chilly. I'll be using chenille single ply yarn. I hope it turns out nice.

Thanks for posting the pattern! I can't wait to try!

Thanks for a great, easy pattern. I'm not an experienced knitter but what I do, I try to do well. I've always believed that simple projects can be gorgeous if you use beautiful materials. The proof is in Hestia !

Hi Linda,
the sportweight alpaca I used had about 500 yards per 200 grams (7 oz.) I used approx. 6 oz., so 850 --900 yds would be my estimate.
Hope this helps!

Hi Linda
The link for Fibre Friends is actually just an email address. They don't have an online store. I ordered the yarn through email correspondence with 'Janet'. I bought 2 200 gram skeins and used about 3/4 of that. I'm sorry I don't know the yardage of the skeins but I will try to find out.
